happy x50 user - smartphone recommendations?
I need help.
I'm super happy with my AX x50 (mid). I've had it for years. However, I am missing a few features which I'm looking at the benefits of upgrading to a new all-in-one phone/pda unit.
I have my AX sync'd with my PC at home and at work, but I'd like a few new features:
(1): eMail on the go. I'd love to be able to pick up my work email (Outlook) on my phone since I travel about once a week, and it would be nice to be able to work in transit.
(2): Weather on the go. I use a weather app on my AX which is so nice. But, I can only update when I sync it with a PC (the wireless is so hit or miss). Its extremely beneficial for me (see part 1 about my weekly work travel) and it would be nice to be able to update it on the fly, or at the push of a button, regardless of where I am.
(3): Customization. One of the nice things about the AX is that I have customized my Today to show exactly what I want and only what I need. I'd like to keep that flexibility.
(4): Portability. Finally combine my phone and my AX into one device, so I don't look like the uber nerd (although I am one) with a phone in hand and a PDA on my hip. I know I'm a geek, but I don't want to look like gadgetilla-the-hun.
And I'd like to keep costs low.... I know, everyone says that.
I saw the HTC Fuze, and it looks nice. I also saw a decent LG phone (was it the Vu?)
Are these the types of things I shoudl be looking for?
I've just been so far out of the market since I've been so happy with my AX. And most of these seem to have much smaller screens...
Point me in the right direction. Thanks!

there are loads smart phones on market and most , if not ALL, are good.
i have oredered a htc touch hd:
it has all the features of win mobile, plus it has the fuctions of phones... and there is alotaaa alottaaa support for it on the net if u look.
but basically you need to check out all the different vendors to see whats out there in your country cos im not sure if htc touch hd is available in usa.
alternatives are sonyerricson X1, samsung i900 omnia, htc diamond, they all good just down to personal prefereance ...and i know its not an ewasy choice ... i been looking for months, and finally bit the bullet and ordered a htc hd

Id say htc fuze or touch hd, only thing Id be worried about is running the battery down on the phone, and losing phone functionality

I'm looking at the HTC. It seems like it is nearly Axim in phone form.
It just amazes me that my 4 year old Axim is just now getting usurped in power by these new devices, and that only just barely. 520mhz vs 528mhz and 128mb rom vs 256mb.
I love my Ax.
