Screen cracked

Hello, My Aim X51v have screen cracked, Dell display broke and the touchscreen does not work.Any idean how can I fix it. Thank you.:(

First, you need to take apart the Axim. BernardM has an excellent video here.

Then you need to replace the digitizer and a screen with a replacement.

Is the screen bleeding? If not you might only need the touch panel..btw I love that video, it helped me feel confident about taking my axim apart.

He/she said the touchscreen is not working and the screen is bleeding; therefore, both the underlying screen and digitizer have to be replaced.

Mmm, I can't seem to find a trusted site to buy both parts...

Martrader.

I don't know where you live, but if it is outside of north america, shipping price will be higher for the V screen assembly.

Keep in mind that you need to make sure that you buy a screen that is for the V and not for the non V versions. The physical sizes are different and the shell won't fit right.

Having said that, you might look for a non V that is bricked WITH a good screen because you can take the screen and shell from a non V and use your mother board and bottom shell. I've done this at least 20 times and it always works.

If all that sounds too difficult or the cost is high, then just look at getting a new PDA, like an HP (whatever). Many people here have talked about like after their axim and I've read about some HP model that seems popular among the masses.

wouldn't it be better to buy a new, refurbished, used one on like ebay or amazon rather than pay someone else for parts. I"ve seen x51vs refurb full box for 199.00. Parts and repair get over $100.00.:approve: today ebay buy it now 169, 159, 189.

Hi guys, which leads them to repair the screen of my PDA. Everything went perfect and I owe it to johnhu_2005 and the other with his advice. We mention that with only 30 dollars and the video johnhu_2005 suggested that I could repair it. I leave you the link where you bought the screen can be useful. Any questions about this can be let.
