I have downloaded the aximx50v files that are in another forum post and formated my SD card to fat 32 copied the files over to the card but using the inbuilt update all im getting is no sutable rom found like others . Could some one point me in the right direction please.

I need some information in order to assist you.

1. What Windows Mobile version are you using? (WM2003SE or WM5?)
2. What ROM verson are you using (WM2003SE A05, WM5 A01, etc...?)
3. What language are you using (I assume English)

Model X50v
OS windows 2003 SE Version 4.21.1088 ( Build 14260.2.0.5 )
ROM Version A05
Language English.

Would like to upgrade to Mobile 5 latest if possable if it is worth while that is.

New to the X50v as I have been using an X5 for the past few years.

I sent you a Private Message (PM) with the necessary steps. I am not allowed the post the upgrade CD links in open view.

Once you have upgraded to WM5 A01, download WM5 A02 and run the installer.

This will give you the latest WM5 version.

Hi, I am interested in going to WM5 and beyond:

My current PPC:
X50V
WM2003SE
A05 ROM
English

A00 hardware

(I once had upgraded to WM5 a few years ago, but couldn't stand it and went back to WM2003)

Now, I am ready to get beyond WM5. If you could PM me the instructions as well - many thanks!

First, backup all personal data on your x50v to your PC. You can do this by syncing your Axim and copy+pasting. Or you can use a shareware such as SPB Backup (It has a trial you can download).

Then download and extract this file from Dell. It will upgrade your WM2003SE from A01 to A05.

Sync your Axim with Activesync (Windows Mobile Device Center on Windows Vista or Windows 7 will NOT work) and on your PC, click on "AximUpdate.exe" Follow directions as prompted.

If you need any help or are ready to go on, please let me know.

~Also, please make an attempt to write in proper English (Thanks for thnx). It allows less room for misunderstanding.
