UK 50v and US 50v??? Differences???

Is there a remarkable difference between the UK version versus the US version??? I'm asking because I'm thinking of buying one and if there is- will it be simple to fix???

There is a huge and unsolvable difference.

The AC plug has three pins.

Yes, the transformer is the same, you can change the actual cable (from the transformer to the socket) if you like or just use a plug adapter.

Otherwise the units are identical.

You're the man this morning Box!

:approve:

That's what I wanted to hear!

One more thing tho. Remember how I'm selling my Axim 30. Well I'm not selling the keyboard. I had planned to sell that separately. I had to buy an adapter for it- specifically a PA-14. If I recall correctly that should work right?

One other thing to be aware of when buying from the UK, you may have to pay import duty when you receive it.
I'm not sure how strict they are at your end but it is certainly a pain whenever I get something sent from the States to Europe.
Try to get the sender to mark the package as "Gift" or "Used Goods returned to owner" and "No Commercial value".

The other differences are that the UK version supports a slightly wider range of wifi channels (1-13 instead of 1-11) but thats not really a problem either way..

And the UK version is also a colour device (and understands irony :p )

My X50v's power adapter (US) says:

INPUT: 100-240V~400mA 50-60Hz

That pretty much accounts for any country's power supply so it should work fine with a simple plug adapter or new cord going to the brick. All Axim X50/51 series units use:

OUTPUT: 5.4V 2410mA + --o)-- -

and a special plug that converts the round power jack to the dock connector on the Axim (you can also use a dock or cable with USB that has a power input).
