Question x51v slow with Opera. Is RAM the issue?

I have an Axim x51v, and a fast home wifi connection, but the internet still seems to crawl. Even relatively image-light pages like gmail are pretty slow.
Much slower than my laptop using the same wifi connection.
(pages like wikipedia or youtube are painful...)

I am using opera 9.5 (build 16277) which I understand is a fairly speedy application.
So is it the lack of RAM that is the issue? I have been considering the upgrade to 128 for a while.
Any thoughts on this, especially from people who have taken the RAM update plunge would be most appreciated.

I prefer 15233 over 16277, 16277 was too buggy for my setup. Id give opera mini a shot if you are looking for comparable speeds to your laptop, though the rendering is much simpler. Supposedly, Opera 9.7 is coming out anyday now, which I hope is a big improvement over current Opera offerings. I still think Opera is the best mobile browser around, especially the 15xxx builds and the diamond builds.

Try Skyfire if you want to watch youtube.

Thanks KimChee,
I havent had any bug issues with 16277 but I will give 15233 and mini a shot in any case, while I wait for 9.7.

Of the three browsers on my PPC (PIE, NetFront 3.3, and Iris), Opera is not one.

As usual a man of few, and some might say parsimonious, words.

I will step out of character briefly to state that I say what I mean, I mean what I say, but I try not to say it mean. Parsimonious has a connotation of meaness. Also, a quote I like (Plato, I believe): "Wise men speak because they have something to say; fools because they have to say something".

I encourage you to try the different browsers yourself and make up your own minds; formulate your own opinions. How I compare them may or may not have any correlation to your perceptions.

Anyway, you may have fun in the process, right?
