Question Page Pool flashing and risk of bricking

I am thinking to flash my Ax (currently being upgraded to 128 MB) with a version of Lennys 6.1 L11 which I have edited to have a 16MB page pool using 'Axim Page Pool Editor'.
From what I have read, this should significantly improve the speed of code heavy applications.

Before going ahead with this though, I wanted to check on the risk involved in flashing with such a modified ROM.
Anyone have any experience/input on this?

Also, I am interested in running some before/after load time tests. Could anyone suggest particularly code heavy applications that would best illustrate the advantages of the larger page pool?

Eh, Page Pool has always been troublesome...
I have used the Page Pool editor a few times and reflashed.

I have increased my PP to 8MB. With a 64MB RAM, my 3-D games (Like GTS racing, Explode Arena, and Sky force) run a bit more smoothly. Internet Explorer and Opera does not have much of an increase in start speed. The only increase in speed is for programs that occupy a good chunk of memory (7-11+MB).

Of course, I would not recommend the PP edit for people with 64MB RAM because that leaves them with so little RAM left for multiple simultaneous programs. You will often get the "Not enough memory" warning.

But since you have 128MB RAM, I think 8MB PP should be sufficient. If you want, give 16MB a try. You should NOT get the "Not enough memory warning". I did not do any formal tests, but by gut feeling, I can feel my memory-intensive programs run a bit smoother.

Bricking is always a possibility when flashing any kind of ROM. But as long as you can access the bootloader via Power+Reset+Wifi, you will be fine. The only time you really have a cooked Axim is when you break your bootloader or an internal hardware problem occurs.
