So I have the origional wm5 A06 on my x51v. My current A06 is very stable and I have no complaints, but does A12 have enough improvements so that I sould go ahead and update? Thanks to johnhu's link I now have a x51v that supports full SDHC (very happy with my 32gb SDHC :) ) which makes me even more happier.
1) Should I update to A12?
2) What are the positives and negatives with A12?
3) I am using DOSBOX, would A12 be any faster than the A06?
4) Would there be any software conflictions?
5) Is there any risk of corrupting the OS during installation of A12?
Thank you, all responses are helpful and welcome,

I concur, flashing ROMs always has a possibility of bricking the device. From what I experienced a long time ago, A06 and A12 are basically the same thing. So don't upgrade.

It is the SDHC driver found here. If you have WM6 or above, there is no need for that.

There are not any real issues with flashing your Axim but just make sure you read first. I you don't understand something then ask. It is really hard to brick your Axim unless you flash a ROM that isn't intended for it. I am currently running WM6.5 on mine. Some of the WM61 ROM are much cleaner, faster, & use less memory than the stock ROM
I understand some people just do not feel comfortable using ROMs that are not stock. A12 is absolutely fine.
Lenny's new L14 is much faster and incorporates the new honeycomb design.
