Serial communication in Visual Studio 2005

Hi all, I'm trying to create a Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Device Application using Visual Studio an C# that communicates though the serial port. The device is the X51v. Does anyone have done something similar?

There is no serial port on the Axim x51v.

I have coded before in VB but not for the mobile platform.

Well, I use this serial cable h t t p : //serialio.com/products/adaptors/AximSerial_RS232.php and I'm using C# to send/receive messages - the serial port in the Axim is "COM1". I just wanted to know if someone has done something similar...

You obviously don't know the X50/X51 series very well - there certainly IS a serial port on these units in addition to a client USB port that I'm playing with in another thread.

robademat, For VB interfacing to the Windows Mobile serial interface, do a search on the Windows Mobile programming forums - it should use the standard OS system calls to a specific serial port. Your app should scann to see what ports are open and auto assign or give the user a choice of which port to attach to.
