Lenny 6.1 ROM x50, horrible battery life? (Processor always at 624)

I just bought a brand new battery and charged it to full. I'm running LennySH 6.1 rom on my x50 and I have had it out of the cradle for about 2 hours, barely using it. I think I used it for a total of 15 minutes. The battery is already at 56%. I checked the under POWER, and even when I have the processor set at AUTO it's always at 624 mhz. Is this why my battery is draining so fast? Could it be that I have S2U2 installed? Would that affect my battery life? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
