WM2003SE is renowned for it's stability and speed. If it isn't broken, there is no apparent reason to upgrade to WM5. Most WM2003SE programs run perfectly on WM5.

I've been running WM2003se since the beginning. There's plenty of programs available. Of course, some of the newer programs may not work. A lot depends on what you plan on doing with your AX. :)

And, welcome to Mobilitysite. Lots of good info and ppl here.

Congratulations on your first post, nikola_bb :approve:

I have WM5 on my X51v but I certainly prefer my X50v with WM2003se - it's by far the best IMHO

Welcome to the MobilitySite - I'm sure you'll enjoy - :)

The 1100mAh is good if you often travel with your Axim and need it to fit in your pocket.

I recommend the 2200mAh if you want extended usage.

3200mAh is way too big...

Ebay has way too much counterfeit seller/batteries. Try PPCTech's standard battery or extended battery.

Garmin Mobile XT requires WM5:

"Minimum requirements for Windows Mobile®, Palm® and Symbian® devices: Windows Mobile 5 or above operating system, 16MB program memory, 128MB storage card minimum (256MB or more recommended), 2GB storage card for full coverage".

I can assist you upgrading to WM5/6. If you upgrade to WM5, it is logical to do so to WM6. The only loss is if you have extended warranty, which will voided. WM6 gives you faster response and a better user interface.

Of course, nothing is perfect.

Think of WM6 as WM2003SE with more program compatibility and better interface. Most "advanced" programs need WM5 or 6 to run correctly. I would say WM6 rivals WM2003SE in terms of stability (A few crashes in a few months).

ok can i go back to wm 2003?
guide me for update to wm6?
but which rom i see there are 3 roms.which one?

i am reading through the forum and you said also this:

You can install both WM6.1 and WM6 on a x50v. The only downside is that if the battery drains completely and it is left like that for a few hours, your x50v will hard reset.

???

No, you cannot go back to WM2003 once you beyond WM5. I do not have the WM2003 bootloader, that is why.

"You can install both WM6.1 and WM6 on a x50v. The only downside is that if the battery drains completely and it is left like that for a few hours, your x50v will hard reset."

That is correct. The x50v does not have persistent memory. If you leave it without a battery for too long, it will automatically hard reset. That is why you should always keep your Axim charged or have a backup battery somewhere.

Are you sure you want to go to WM6? You cannot downgrade back to WM2003.

I've gone back from wm5 and wm6 to wm2003se several times. It's a little tricky but CAN be done. The bootloader and o/s can be found in the xda-developers archives
