Spontaneous hard reset

I have a Axim X50 that without warning does a hard reset, wiping everything out. Has anyone else had this problem and how do I fix it?

First thought would be a bad battery. The x50 series does not have persistent memory. Therefore, if the battery is either removed or becomes bad for some time, the device automatically hard reset.

So try borrowing or buying a new battery and see if it helps.
