Axim X50 going inactive every 15 seconds

Since a few days, every 15-30seconds, when on battery, my axim (X50, WM2003, ROM A02 French) goes inactive.
Even if I just clicked on a button, even if my settings are set to not go inactive when on battery, it goes inactive.

Clicking on a button awakes it, but still, it's very tedious.

It does not happen when in the craddle. Battery is fully loaded, of course.

Any idea ?

I did numerous resets with memory cleaning.

Thanks.

How old is the battery? Have you swapped the battery lately? Sometimes a weak battery will lose its charge very quickly. :exc:

Start-->Settings-->"System" tab-->Brightness-->"Battery Power" tab-->Uncheck "Dim if device is idle for more than"

Start-->Settings-->"System" tab-->Power-->"Advanced" tab-->Uncheck both "Turn off device if not used for"

The battery does not lose its charge. If I'm willing to press a button every 15seconds, I can use the pda for hours. I also tried another battery (in case some information was wrongly reported from the battery to the pda (then, the charge seems to be correctly displayed))

As for the settings, I already used the one you suggested, since i started having my problem.

Should I try a hard reset ?

At this point, I am also thinking it's the battery. A hard reset would not help.

I changed the battery, and still have the same problem. Not during the first three hours of use, but now it goes off 15 seconds after I remove it from the cradle (so, it's fully charged).
Sometimes it works correctly for a while, and then not, for a longer time it seems.

I think it's soon the end of my Axim experience.
