I will attempt to answer questions that I can, when I can.

1. You mentioned that the screen was not as bright compared to the 4700 but is it at least brighter than the X30H? I would love a screen that would be better for GPS use.
2. Did you test the IR? (I realize it's no longer CIR.)
3. How does the back cover work? Would an extended battery be covered too?
4. Do you miss the jog dial? EDIT: i.e., did you miss not having one?
I am reading this review at work on a lousy monitor; sorry if you have already covered these points in you review but I missed them...
No, I have not gotten an extended battery yet and did not try VOIP. I am planning on trying Skype soon.

Good job on the review, but I think you leave some questions open on battery life...
I noticed that the brightness was set to maximum in your tests. Was the CPU speed also set to maximum? Do you have a feel for what happens to battery life when you crank down the brightness and/or CPU? (is the screen "bright enough" at anything below max?)
Also, do you know much about the 2200mah battery, i.e. does it add significant weight and extend out the back? Perhaps more importantly, does it preclude the use of aluminum hard cases?
Gigi, and all after her. I am making another exciting post, then I have to get back to work for a while, I will answer all questions later though.

hehe...yes I realize that...that's why I was asking Chris if he missed it!
Oh, I thought you meant maybe he was reviewing the unit at 4 AM and in his sleep-deprived state he missed the fact that there was a jog dial. Now I know you meant whether he missed not having it.

How come BargainPDA says the X50v has CIR and AximSite says FIR?

Dell X50v with BT LG325, Belkin GPS, 1GB 60x Kingmax SD, 1GB Lexar 32x CF, 512MB Lexar SD and 256MB Lexar SD, I wish they would'nt release these so often. Every time a new one comes out I make sure I get it!!!
I originally posted this in the review article, but I guess it's more appropriate here, so I apologize for making the same post twice:
With the unbelievably horrible scores the X50v got for GAPI, I have to wonder how, or even IF, it's going to be able to run current games or emulators that use it. That's one thing I'd really like to know though, how it handles morphgear on some of the tougher systems(like GBA)... I mean it's great that when used properly the 2700G blows away other PDAs, but it's going to be a major downfall of the unit (in my opinion) if it can't handle older and less system-specific games too.
Chris: would it be possible for a test of morphgear to be done on the X50v, since that's one of the more popular and more system intensive games out there?

Good suggestion!
