Canadian DFS-Financed Order Tracking

How long is it taking my fellow Canadians who are going through Dell Financial Services to have your order show up for tracking? I ordered my X50v yesterday around noon EST and as of 6:30 EST today it still hasn't shown up for tracking. I received two confirmation emails after the order: one with the order number on it and the other from DFS with my contract. I haven't received anything else since. Is it normal for it to take over 24 hours for financed orders to show up in the tracking system?

Hey Shrink,

I have never ordered through Dell Financial Services but when I ordered my X30 via a LIVE sales rep (at a kiosk), it took a few days for the order to show up for tracking. I know this doesn't answer you question directly, but maybe it can help. :)

Thanks Gigi and zupp242 - after the agonizing decision as to whether or not to take the plunge back into the wonderful world of Dell Canada, I am still a little antsy. :)

UPDATE: I just called Dell (my order hadn't yet turned up as of this a.m.) and the gentleman said that I would be getting an email this afternoon that the X50v has gone into production and that I would have it "within a couple of days".

WOOHOO :)

Seems that they are getting these out sooner than expected if the CS rep I spoke with was correct.

I went through DFS and I called them yesterday about the status of my order. They said my X50v was in Pre-production (whatever that means). I can't wait till they deliver it way up north to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Can any Canadians who went the DFS route track their orders yet? It's been 3 days now and still nothing for me.

Shrink, unfortunately I think the rep. meant (to say, possibly) "pre-production". Knowing Dell Canada and new products you should not be receiving your X50v until about a week after those in in the US have. So keep watch for people receiving their X50v's on this forum cause apparently their orders are higher in priority.

I was surprised when he said "about to go into production" as well. He clearly stated that "you should get an email this afternoon saying that your unit is about to go into production". Now he may have just been blowing smoke out of his a** :) but I can't imagine how he could have gotten "going into production" mixed up with "pre-production". I guess we will see. I am more irked at the inability of the canadian website to properly track this product. I had the same problem with my X3i and an X3 I bought for my wife. I was able to track my X5 with no problem though. Bleh - Dell Canada is like the idiot stepchild of Dell US.

My Dell Canada rep told me mine was in pre-production, that was last Thursday. My order still dosen't show up on Dell.ca. When I ordered a laptop and a battary for my X3i I could track it the whole way but I placed my order over the net that time.

I placed my order last Tuesday and I still unable to check the status of my order.

My colleague told me about his bad experience with Dell Canada and warn me to keep checking my order constantly. He bought a PC System (free camera and printer) from Dell Canada last summer and after 6 weeks, he got the camera and the printer but no computers. He called Dell Canada and found out something was wrong with his credit card authorization and the order was cancelled without noticing him. What really pissed him off was Dell can still charge the camera and printer at full price to his credit card while the PC System were left out without contacting him.

I would give Dell a call to see if my order is still valid.
