Are you reinstalling?

For several PPCs I have just transfered the data on my SD card and then created links to the executables without reinstalling the apps. Not all work like this but most have. Do you do this or do you go throught the trouble of reinstalling everything?

I've got a couple dozen games on an SD card that I just create shortcuts for every time I hard reset. Not installing them again means less clutter in the "Remove Programs" setting panel, which I think is a good thing.

As you said, a few programs won't work this way, but for those that will I don't see any reason to reinstall from scratch. (I usually move programs from their default install location anyway, just so I can keep things organized on my SD card)

the programs that dont work with just shortcuts are the ones that need things in the registry to run, when you just add shortcuts, not all the registry values get inserted

but some programs dont need registry entries so you are just fine to have only shortcuts
really depends on the app
