Box Arrived - NO x50v inside!!!!!

I can't beleive this! UPS finally delivered my Axim x50v package today. I tore right into it and discovered the 1GB SD card on top. The USB cradle was in a separate box from the x50v. All was going well until . . . I opened the box marked to contain the unit itself and discovered the User's manual and other documentation . . . and NOTHING ELSE!! Where is the quality control? How does and order for an x50v get shipped with everything EXCEPT the x50v????

I'm on hold with Dell right now as Monica tries to get this situation sorted out for me.....

I just received my x50v today too, and they sent me the right cradle but the wrong sync cable!

Apparently this problem is widespread and there is a total lack of quality control at dell. When I was promised a free 2200 mah extended battery for my x50v, the Dell customer care person told me this: "make sure that when you open the box, it's actually for your x50v, sometimes the people packing your shipments aren't looking very carefully and will just throw whatever battery they feel like into the box" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will never buy another product from Dell! I feel your pain, man. I've been dealing with the "ordered the release day, waiting while people that ordered last week have theirs" debacle!!! Their customer service blows and obviously many other parts of their business is horrible. I don't see how they aren't losing more money by outsourcing customer service and the numerous other things that cause them to lose customers or have to provide them with discounts or free product to make up for the incompetence! Amazing.

In this case I would most definitely write to the CEO and complain about such a mess.....Sure, Monica may well get it sorted out, but upper management needs to be made aware of this situation since it may well border on some form of breach of contract! At least give it serious thought....Dell needs to be held accountable for such matters!!!!

I'm still on hold - 30 minutes now -- and Monica just told me it will be another 2-3 days before she can get a new order # cleared for me. WHAT? That is totally unacceptable. I'm waiting to speak with a manager about the situation.

Quick . . . any ideas on leverage I can use to get this expedited or to have the deal sweetened????

Depending on how much you paid originally, you should demand a $50-$100 credit MINIMUM. If you paid full price originally then you should expect $100+, this is unnacceptable.

You might consider stressing with the manager that you ordered and paid for the unit in good faith and Dell is completely responsible for honoring what amounts to a sales contract....which they have FAILED to honor up to this point! Your unit should be delivered TODAY (yes I know about the shouting) by special delivery and no excuses as to why it cannot be done! At this point you would not be out of bonds asking for $200 off immediately! Such incompetence is simply not to be tolerated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :realmad: :realmad: :realmad:

Sorry for ranting, but this sort of nonsense really pushes all sorts of buttons......

Or at least demand some extras for the pain you are going through. Case CF card, etc

"Dude I'm getting a 4700"

This same thing happened to me whenever I ordered my x30h. Dell shipped me a completely empty box. There was nothing in the box. No manuals, accessories, etc. Completely empty. It sucked big time. Dell was very quick to resolve the issue. I even got some free screen protectors out of the deal. I would definitely complain until they gave you something for your troubles.

Okay,
The mangaer, Tim, basically acknowledges a manufacturer error in shipping (my package SHOULd have arrived yesterday with next DAy air) that DIDN'T happen. Then the box I do get is bascially empty save for the SD card and cradle. Tim gets a new order placed for me and says it MAY go out today or tomorrow -- so I may have my unit by Friday or sometime next week (he can't guarantee anything).

I ask if he can do anything to make a bad situation any better for me as I sit here Aximless -- maybe a $$ credit off the purchase, a case, ANYTHING? He says, "Well we are shipping you a duplicate order so you'll be getting another SD card." I could hardly contain my excitement. :realmad:

I asked for the Corporate headquarter's address and will definitely be expressing my utter disappointment to Dell about their QC Dept.
