Unfortunately, Yahoo stopped their messenger service for Pocket PC 2 years ago. Fortunately, there's Agile Messenger which supports ICQ, AOL and Yahoo. AOL Instant Messenger for Pocket PC is also available for download. :approve:

Agile has possible landscape issues. There's also IM+ but you have to pay for it, and I've not heard/read one way or the other about possible landscape issues but I plan on trying this as soon as I get my x50v.

Any idea why yahoo quit pocket pc? Doesn't seem like a teribbly big effort on their part. Oh well there are other ways I see. :approve:

Seeing as their desktop version has been working (with relatively few bugs) and they have been making huge upgrades the last couple of years, perhaps they decided to concentrate on that. I'm hoping that will change though.

http://asia.messenger.yahoo.com/download/wince.html

Although it installs and opens just fine, I can't get the program to connect. It doesn't seem to have an option to use my Linksys wireless, but it does show an option for bluetooth.

Regards,

James

I've downloaded the Y! Mobile program as well with the same problem. It simply does not allow the option of connecting through wireless. Has anyone found a way to make this work. I tried Agile and found it annoying. It always shows me online, even when I want to be Invisible. Not a chance I'll touch AOL or MSN.

Any luck James?

Anyone?

The program is no longer compatible with the yahoo network, only agile and the others will work.

Try Microsoft Portrait. I found it more difficult to use, but it works for voice.

Thanks for your clarification. I'm annoyed because Agile sucks. If anyone finds another way, let me know.
