FWIW - Here are my settings for OzVGA. And, to me, It's perfect.
Also, I have put more screenshots of my PPC in true VGA mode HERE...

5% because of the way to small fonts in real VGA-MODE. It kills my eyes even more! I am waiting for an app to changes the font size especially on th eToday screen. So I am using standard VGA if that's the default. I am using the landscape-mode more.
The above looks greatn though I played around with the settings for a while but still to small for me. Also apps I am using are not suiteble for *real* VGA use. So for now I'll keep it with standard VGA.

Not just the Start Menu itself but when you go into programs folder. The font is WAY too small

Try using Dell's 'Home' app. It follows the font sizes you choose in OzVGA. Like I said, I don't use the built in Start menu. I also don't use the 'Programs' selection. Haven't for 3 years in the PPC world. Tillanosoft's SmallMenu Plus breaks out the folders under the Start folder into cascading menus. Very much easier to use and it follows YOUR selection of font. It is NOT hard coded like the stupid Start menu. I highly recomend everyone getting away from the Start menu. You can make custom links to all of the settings as a subfolder under the Start menu as well. In fact there is a zip file at BrightHand that has most of them and a nice dll to give you a pretty icon for each one if you want.
Down with the Start menu!
Down with the Start menu!
kazuni - NP. Share and share alike. We need a sticky for links to true VGA themes. The ones that are in the link you followed do not need stretched by SE_VGA and they look MUCH sharper. If anyone knows where there are more (true 480x640, not ones you have to stretch) PLEASE post a link somewhere.
That's all for now. Took an Excederine Migraine. Must lay down...getting shaky...

I am sorry oosadface, but you're talking some crap here.
What do you say to people in a wheelchair?
Is this the way in the US to exclude people who arn't "complete" (anymore)?:realmad:
Somebody will come up with a program in where you get a bigger keyboard and customize all the fonts, and I hope soon.

ooosadface,
What font sizes do you have in PI? My one qualm with going true vga all the time is the way PI looks. When entering new appointments/tasks, it's quarter screened... Any fix for this?

PI has custom style schemes. I have one set up for VGA that I can upload for you tomorrow. They are simple registry scripts that can be selected from the PI icon when in the app. If I need to switch back to QVGA mode I simply select the one I have set specifically for QVGA.

Yes. The entire US is evil because I think if you aren't going to use true VGA mode then you should get a true non VGA pocket pc... Grow up.
The US does more for it's handicapped citizens then probably all other countries combined. (No, I have no proof, just estimating based I what I've seen working as a children's pastor in my church.). I personally mentor a young man (14 yrs) with ADD/HD and lead poisoning that stunted his growth at the age of 3. He is an awesome example of what the US does for it's less fortunate.
Now back to PPC's in the VGA mode.
I have found that Olivetree's, Laridian's and Rick Meyers' Pocket eSword work the best in true VGA. The same is true for TransCreatives QuickLookup2. Speed is and viewablity are unmatched in these apps in true VGA mode. More info on other apps as I test them more thouroughly (unless the bulk of readers want me to stop blabbing about my fun in true VGA!). :hide:
EDIT - I had some other things in here in response to Hendrixus but it just didn't help anything so I pulled it out. Listen, I'm not out to hurt feelings and don't appreciate your comments. This is all I will say about this.

OK, I was on a roll and did it tonight.
1) Download the attachment
2) Copy the 2 files inside to your PPC
------ In the WebIS folder under My Documents
3) Open PI
4) Select the PI icon at the bottom left
5) Select 'Color Schemes)
6) Select the ooosadface_vga or ooosadface_non_vga depending on what mode you are in
That will give you a good base. From there you can customize colors and font sizes as you wish. Just remember to go to the icon and select 'Color Schemes' - 'Save Current' when you make changes so you don't lose the changes.
(Although my colors and font sizes are perfect, so you shouldn't need to change anything!

OT:
I have an almost blind girlfriend (glaucoma) in the US so I know what I am talking about. She is thrilled what we are doing in Holland for handicapped, which is better then in the US, she tells me so when she's here.

You need OzVGA and some time to play with the settings. Nothing will be perfect at first. With time you will be assimilated to the place of no turning back to QVGA. QVGA is for sissies!!
Now now Hendrixus, the US doesn't think you're a sissy and neither do I. :)
Seriously pdahound get OzVGA and try my settings (posted earlier) and play around with some of your own. SEVGA just doesn't cut it unless your only flipping to true VGA for a quick surf.
Get OzVGA here.

GREAT! I think you have to post that in a QVGA section, LOL!
What you think of me as a person is as even important as a HEMA rookworst is to me.
OZVGA is not (yet) doing anything what we, the "blinds" and bad seeing ones want!

I think I will try it. Thanks. I have read through those threads. If I remember correctly, it will allow me to adjust the fonts better to my liking? I do like to have crystal clear fonts, etc and as much on the page as possible at one time. but SEVGA is pretty small.

I agree 100% when I first went true VGA with SE_VGA I quickly went back to QVGA because of fonts.
Also, I don't run with cleartype enabled. IMO (again this is just MY opinion) no cleartype = much crisper fonts.

I think that rookworst would hurt just about anyone!!
It's kind of like a Johnsonville Brat here in the US. I can only handle 2 but I long for a third. But I know if I eat it I will be begging for !!

Forget it, it is too small. I have a 10% visibility loss, and even for me it is way to small. Last night trying some settings out with OZVGA I wend to bed witha headache. Let us know what you think.

I tried SE_VGA and it killed my wireless until I did a hard reboot. But the fonts were way too small. What would be great would be an app that would let me switch to true VGA when I browse the web or watch a movie.
