Which Video Format To Convert To (From .wmv)

I've got a few clips that are in .wmv format. What video format should I convert them to? What program would you suggest to do this?

I've used Stoik Video Converter to change it to .avi but that turns a 11meg file into a 160meg file. That would fill up my 512meg sd card awefully quickly. I like the 11meg size better.:)

Or, is there a program that will allow me to play .wmv files on my X50v? That would work for me also.

Thanks for the help.

I didn't check what version my x50v came with, but it won't play the .wmv file. Well, it plays but I don't get a picture. I only hear the audio. I've tried using sevga to see if that helped but it didn't.

The files work fine on my laptop.

Any other ideas?

I use Windows Media 10 on my X30. I believe the X50 has it too, but version 9 works as well.

Download Windows Media Encoder from MS. Use the wizard to re-encode the files and select the PPC Wide Screen template.

Loading Media Player 10 on my laptop got it working properly. It hadn't been before. However, it still won't work on my x50v even though that has media player 10 installed. Any ideas?

very wierd, it should work no problem with the axim WMP, have you tried syncing the file through wmp10 on your desktop computer??

add it to the sync list on your computer, then when you plug in your axim you can transfer it via the sync list...just note it will be a little slow...

Syncing it didn't help, but using windows media encoder did. Now I just need to figure out the proper settings to make it look decent. My first attempt it looked really small.

Anyone know of a tool that can convert a bunch of files at once? I can only get the windows media encoder to do one at a time.
