Help in configuring VPN connection?

Got my Axim 50v yesterday. Really great but,I have good signal strength to the LyncSys Router but it pops up a message saying I need to "Configure VPN connection" How the heck do I do that?

does that come up while in Internet Explorer?? if so you need to go to Start-->Settings-->Connections-->Network Adapters-->the second tab over from the left (cant remeber exactly what it is, i dont have my ppc with me right now ) and then change the drop down to "Internet"

then if you are syncing in via WIFI with (doesnt matter with usb)activesync you will need to change that drop down to "work"

this is kinda a little dumb networking thing in all pocket pcs..

hope this works and welcome to aximsite :approve:

Select "Internet" or "My ISP" for both areas instead of "Work". As long as they are the same you can sync wirelessly. Also you must sync at least once with the cradle to set up a partnership.

I have Linksys, try this...
1) Turn on your wireless...green flashing light.
2) Go to settings...Connection tab
3) Select Network Cards.
4) Your wireless network should show up in the "Add New" with Available?
5) Select the wireless networkand make sure it says "Connect to Internet" not "Work".
6) Click OK.

If you have MAC filtering enabled on your linksys network, disable it temporarily & try Internet Explorer.

Once you have everything working, Go back to settings and press WLAN Utility, and press the Advanced tab. Note the MAC address and add that to your list of addresses in Linksys. Finally renable the MAC filtering.

That was a great walkthrough. Thanks!

But it's back to the(Cannot connect)
In order to to connect to
your work network you will need
to configure a VPN connection.

Frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!

This is just a guess but..

On settings go to Connections.
Press Set Up Proxy Server.

Under each tab Modem, VPN, Proxy Settings..there should be no entries. If there are, delete them and re-try the configuration steps.

If all else fails, do a hard reset, that will reset your PPC to factory settings and perform the configuration steps. Keep in mind that everything you downloaded to your PPC will be lost.

I assume you use DHCP server on the router, has your PPC successfully obtained a DHCP IP? you can check it in the "Advanced" tab of the WLAN utility.
