Are my bottom buttons bad?(And some battery questions)

Well, I just received my x50v in the mail a few minutes ago, and before i started charging it I had to push all the buttons like any good geek would do. I noticed that the 4 buttons at the bottom(not the D pad, but the ones around it) seem to not be very well designed. Most buttons provide for some sort of tactile feedback, but these seem to hardly even click. Is that right? Or does my unit just suck?

Also, this isn't worthy of a new thread, so I will post it here: Is it OK to use my Axim while it is doing the initial charge? I don't want to mess up the battery or anything.

Thanks!

Edit: Also, would it be kosher to charge my extended battery in the USB cradle(using USB power) while my axim is charging with the AC adapter? I don't know if you are allowed to charge a battery using USB for the first time. There are so many rules:(

If you don't think asking about initial charge is worth a separate thread, try reading here http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=58144

Have fun with your new Axim.

Thanks for the link. I tried reading that thread, but after about a page it turned into a flame-war, and I got tired of it. I was just looking for a straight yes or no answer to my question. But thanks anyway :)

Well...guess what?

My first X50v had malfunctioning bluetooth.

The replacement unit had 2 buttons by the D=Pad that were recessed a bit and 'sticky'. One would even 'jam' into the black surrounding plastic sometimes.

OK. Now Dell sent me another unit. That unit has the EXACT SAME problem of the FIRST replacement unit. WOW!

I see you have the issue also. NO, that is not normal. CALL DELL and get another unit. :approve: :exc:

I haven't called them yet about the 2nd replacement unit that is bad. So far, they have sent me that 3D gaming pack and an 'executive' leather case ($30 value), but the case is not what I asked for. I really wanted the X30 leather case that comes standard with it.

oh, well.

I think that the buttons are kind of crappy even in a fully functional unit. At least my x50v buttons don't give any proper feedback, but they do not stick under the plastic either. Buttons really did not impress me, but then again, I did not buy the unit because of that, for nice buttons, buy a GBA ;)
