Delay with no end in sight ..... grrrr

Sorry about the double post ... my bad !

My Axim X50V was supposed to be delivered today (overnight shipping) but it did not ship out last night. They told me (customer service) that it was going out yesterday when I called but it did not. Called them today and they do not even have an ETA of when it may ship .... this is getting ridiculous my last 4 orders from Dell have been like this. I never even got a delay notice yet and was supposed to have it in hand today. :realmad:
The customer service supervisors that I talked to were as helpful as a bag of cement while stranded in the middle of the ocean with no land in sight. They would only give the "we wil call you backk in 24 hours" which they have never done as of yet on the previous times. Having only dealt with Dell since May I am curious are they always as careless and inconsiderate to their customers? I took the day off work to receive the package which never arrived costing me $300 in wages and will have to do it again ... adding $600 minimum to the cost of the handheld but does Dell care enough to inform of a delay? NO !


Sorry for ranting but I just had to rant somewhere. I hope all of you that got your Axims recently realize how lucky you are since those of us on the waiting list wonder if we will ever see one of our own. With no time frame I may end up canceling the order and moving my purchases to HP who at least seems to get their products out to the customers at least.

As a side note anyone suggest any good PocketPC programming books? I am moving from the palm (maybe) and want to get started for the fun of it, at least I can play with the simulators if not the actual Axim.

I feel for ya! I'm in the same boat. Ordered on the 15th, no change on website since the 15th, no notice, ship date has come and gone...

I really fell bad for you guys/girls. I mean, I had to wait 3 weeks for my X30 High and that was pretty sad.

My sad story with happy ending. I checked UPS tracking about every half hour today while at work. Just before leaving work I decided to check one more time. UPS changed my est delivery date from 19 to 22 Nov. I drove home with my tail between my legs and told my wife. She said that was too bad. Then she gave me the package 5 minutes later and said they just delivered 5 minutes before I got home. So even UPS has their shipping problems. But I am happy. Have my new baby charging. I feel for the rest of you, but this proves anything can happen.

Well update ... talked to Dell again and they still do not know when it si supposed to ship but the website was showing (while on the phone with them) that it shipped out today ... so now I have to call my boss and take a second day off in a row ... he is going to think i am just taking a long weekend ... but why without the new toy to play with?? I just have to make sure that UPS is set to deliver it on monday before i call in to work. Hope Dell did not make the same mistake as last time ... pay for overnight but they shipped it ground ... took 4 days.

Well hopefully Monday I will be up and running only time will tell.

I've been on the order-go-round since October...

1st order: October 18th... Estimated Shipdate of Dec 3rd. Ha...
2nd order: October 27th (20% discount) Est Ship Date of Nov 16th...
3rd order: November 15th... still in limbo...

It's been full on a month of waiting and it's killing me!!!! I should just have a few dozen and forget about it... It's friday anyway.
