Connecting with T-610

I have my x50v and a Sony t-610 phone on T-Mobile which I used to connect to the net over with my Hp 2210.

I went to set up the x50v and the T-610 and the pairing went perfect. I set up the dial in and all went well. It connects to to phone, dials in, and connect but then I receive an error "GPRS Parameters Not supported." I can't find anywhere to switch the connection to use GSM parameters so the phone won't allow me to get to the net.

Any ideas?

Check on gomadic.com for help under support(assuming they've added a page for the X50). If they haven't, check for the support page for the X5, won't be enough different to not help you. Procedure is the basically the same whether you're using a cable or BT connections other than the actual connection itself. By the way, be sure you edit your message and add who your cellular provider is, that can make a big difference.

I have the same setup x50v and T610. Bluetooth manager discovered network dialup and created an icon. Just pair the two devices and go. Very simular to useing bluetooth modem. When pairing begins, you then have a choice of dialing profiles. Tap one and get connected .Your problems sounds like its in your dialing profile.

Nope. Its not the dialing profile. It dials and connects now qith the *99***1# instead of the *99***2# T-Mobile gave me. I just can't get it to actually pull anything. I guess I need to call T-Mobile and talk to some third world tech guy like last time

I'm using T-Mobile too. I tether it just fine but no pages open. I keep getting errors like "The page you are looking for cannot be found".

The *99 is an "internal" number of your phone when you dial *99 you are basically (and very loosly) activating your GPRS access (in terms of T610, you are putting that world at top).

The # part is simple, is the Data Account profile you are using. for instance, my T610 have 3 data accounts, and the third one is the GPRS access, so I hace to dial *99#4 to connect.

If you have some doubts you can check this on the Connectivity>Data Accounts of your T610

I have an T610 on TMobile GPRS, I use *99***2#, no user name, no password and absolutely no dialing rules or dial strings. If you call TMobile Tech Support, ask for Level 2 Wireless Support and then if you get someone that doesn't speak English, at least you'll know they are a very recent immigrant and not overseas as all Level 2 Support is in the country requesting it. If your TMobile hasn't closed it, there is a back door to GPRS open in some areas, use *99# to access, try it and see if it works, might surprise you. Also, even if you aren't a subscriber to Unlimited Internet, this will work in area where it's still open as long as they are your cell phone provider.

I found when I got "The page you are looking for cannot be found", if I did a soft reset and reconnected, the problem was cured. I decided it had something to do with the way I disconnected. Someetimes I would just close the browser and then hit the power button, for some reason that caused it when I turned it back on, but the soft reset cleared something.

They must have closed those ports where I live because none of those numbers work. I've soft reseted twice and used every combination that you guys listed and even a few of my own: No Dice.

T-Mobile doesn't want NYers tethering for free/cheap. Feel lucky you can still do it because they've got NYC on lock down.

Will someone listing to me? :D

The *99 is not a number of your operator. It doesnt matter if is TMobile or Verizon or ATT or any other. Try to call *99 from your mobile phone and see (errr... hear) what happen

The *99 is an "internal" number that you Axim (or a laptop with BT adaptor, or anyother device) use to tell your modem (in this case, your phone, your T610) to connect to the web trough the data account you specify.

If you call *99#4 (the other "*" are params you are skiping) and theres a data account into you phone with ID 4, you should be connected, and if you dont, is because you have a missconfiguration at your Phone.

I hope this helps

Connection Name:___WHATEVER YOU LIKE____
Phone Number:_________________
Country Code:_________________
Phone Number:___*99***4#_____ (WHERE THE LAST NUMBER IS YOUR DATA ACCOUNT ID -CHECK THE PHONE-)

The other data is opcional, you can leave it blank or ask your provider

The tricky part is configure you data account in your phone (ask your service provider) and then using the rigth ID in the calling string
