Backing Up!!!

I backed up my x30 info on my desktop and a SD card and when I try to restore my Personal info to my x50v it comes back stating that it can't be completed cause the info was backed up by a different device. no kidding sherlock :realmad: is there anyway to get this info on my x50v? I would hate to have to put all my old calendar dates, contacts and software in manually. Thanks for any assistance yall. "Keepin It REAL!!!"

Assuming that you have hard reset the unit and resync, did you name the partnership the same as before? Check on your PC the ActiveSync program will give you the partnership name.

Another thing you might want to try is to restore the PIM back to your x30, then use a third party backup program like sprite backup, or even just outlook (contacts in outlook) and then resync it back to your x50 with a different Partnership name.

Well my x50v is new and I tried to restore my info from my x30 via my desktop with the active sync. I signed in as a guess and tried to restore the info from my x30 to the x50v. It should have worked and I am wondering did they change something on the OS of the x50v which will prevent it from using the restore function?.

You can't restore system or program files from X30 to X50. Only personal data files can be restore. If the data is in Outlook just sync and appointments, calendar, contacts will update. The remaining data can be restore with third party application like Sprite Backup.

But you would have needed to make the original X30 backup with Sprite (only latest versions have this feature) first. If you still have your X30, then i't's not too late.

Thanks, Gigi for your input. I had the same issue earlier this year, I knew about it but forgot to mention it. :approve:
