Your desktop must have a bluetooth adapter. Other than that, I'm not sure how it works.

First, set your network to direct internet. Not the home network (VPN or Proxy) First, connect your PDA to your desktop of laptop, sync. In the connection settings on the active sync, you can find that if the network active sync is available or not. Now, unplug your PDA, or just stop the actie sync. tab the tools setting of the PDA. check if the first tab of the tools setting shows the name of your primary computer to sync.

That's all.

Now, click sync after enabling your wifi. It's way faster than anyother method since you transfer all the data at 11Mbps speed (as the paper).

*Edited.

I didn't read your post well, the hardware you will need is, a wifi adapter, that is all..

It's possible to sync via BT or wifi. A BT requires a BT dongle on your PC side, and wifi requires a wireless access point or a wireless router on your PC side.

Hi Johnson,

Your instructions didn't work for me. I don't see my computer in the Tools tab of my PDA's ActiveSync...

Are you saying I need a wifi access point? I have a wired dlink router now, would I just add the access point and then have access to internet and home network?

thanks for the help

The tools setting on ur pda active sync, connection settings on your primary pc's active sync. Also check your primary pc's name is on your pda active sync tool's first tab.

Isn't a wifi router the same function as a wireless access point?
Can't I active sync through the router if my desktop is wired to it?
thanks

Now I understood what kind of connection you are trying to do. Unfortunatly, I've never tested that connection, so I don't really know how to make it work without actually wrestling with hardwares, but I think as long as you are connected to the router (In your case PDA <-> AP <-> Router <-> PC) so as long as you can connect to your router and change settings for it, it should work.

AFAIK, with WEP WiFi syncing ain't going to work, so you will need to disable them.

Check the Wireless sync section of the Wifi Guide for the procedure.

Yes. You should be able to as long as you can see your computer's name as stated in the instructions:

"Start up the ActiveSync application on it (but do not click the sync button. If you are currently connected, tap "Stop" and disconnect the Axim from the sync cable/cradle). In the "Tools" menu, select "Options...”
In PPC02:

* Click on the check box next to "Include PC when synchronizing remotely and connect to:”
* Enter the name of the PC you'll be syncing with in the text box below this line.
* “OK/close” your way out of the ActiveSync windows

In WM03:

* On the PC tab, make sure the name of your PC is listed."

My problem was that I had a firewall activated. Once I disabled it, it worked without problems. But I refuse to leave my firewall down so, I opened up an access port for it. Other than the firewall, I followed the instructions and it worked without problems! :) Thank you to everyone who helped set up the wifi sync and also the IR sync.
