Has anyone successfully made a VGA cable using the pinout in this thread? If so, could you post pics?

well, directupload.net is for posting images to forums with without problems.

if you got 403 when glicking on
-removed outdated URL-
then try a better webbrowser.

btw - i've included the image in my posting, the link is visible just for convenience. if your problems persist then please be more specific about what exactly you clicked and what browser you're using.

www.gomadic.com has the raw connector plugs in stock!
Part # ICP-13, $3.95USD...
Going to order a few of these myself in a few minutes so I can get going on the serial port cable adapter project.
First off will be a breakout PCB so we can get the pins 100% ID'd.
I'm also going to throw a web page up on the project.
More info to come!

Before I order one of those raw connector plugs I want to be sure it will work as a vga out cable. If it is, this is my understanding of what I will have to do...
connect the vga plug to the corresponding pin on the connector

Connector Pin - VGAPlug
33 - 1
35 - 2
31 - 3
34 - 6
36 - 7
32 - 8
30 - 10
26 - 12
28 - 13
29 - 14
If this is all the connections I will have to make, where would you recommend getting a cable to use. I looked on radioshack.com and wasn't sure which thing to get.
Maybe this?
http://www.sfcable.com/Merchant2/mer...tegory_Code=16
Will this be small enough to fit through the hole on the connector? Would I have to cut the cable and attach the appropriet wires to make it work?
I also have the original analogue wire (don't need it, I use DVI) that came with my dell flat pannel monitor. This seems to be very thin, and looks like it can fit through the connecter's hole.
Never really did anything like this before, sorry for all the questions.

I just ordered two of these connectors from gomadic. I'm going to attempt to make a VGA cable with one and the other is for experimentation (USB anyone?) or a backup if I ruin the first. I'll post if I have success and/or failure.

Now where's that soldering iron...

Great pinout diagram Emmtee! I've been following this thread as I work on an Axim x50 RS-232 interface project.

One possible correction. I am fairly certain that "USB Data(+)" is on pin 22, not on pin 24 as in your diagram. I have verified the following using the Axim x50 Sync/Charger and a multimeter.

PIN 23 - USB Data (-)
PIN 22 - USB Data (+)
PIN 21 - USB +5vdc

This company sells a serial x50(v) cable :
Dell - Axim X50, X50v Serial Cable
This Cable connects to the bottom of the Dell Axim X50, X50v giving a DB9 male connection.
SKU Number: SN-19000S Price: $49.95
http://www.yourmobiledesk.com/produc...=2003&mfrID=na
Of course it is not cheap, but it for sure has the serial pin in/out.

Thanks Dag.
I was worried that nobody understand my English.

I ordered 10 connectors at gomadic.com
And I have a plan to make GPS, Thumb keyboard.

Does anyone know other devices that can attached to x50v?
