Could the Axim x50(v) also act like a USB in/out device ? The Toshiba PDA model has a real USB port I heard.

The Axim can't do this without a CompactFlash USB card.

One possible correction. I am fairly certain that "USB Data(+)" is on pin 22, not on pin 24 as in your diagram. I have verified the following using the Axim x50 Sync/Charger and a multimeter.

PIN 23 - USB Data (-)
PIN 22 - USB Data (+)
PIN 21 - USB +5vdc
Correct, thanks for pointing out! :approve:
In addition I've verified the USB lines personally and upgraded the status of the USB lines in the diagram.

This is the updated diagram:

Does anyone figere out the 5.5v+ and gnd pins that comes from axim to attach accessaries?

btw(by the way, right?), if you want to make rs-232 connection, why don't you use max232 chip? It converts ttl signals into rs-232 signal.

If the Axim has some voltage out pins, then probably they are only activated on demand (see the 1,7V pins which are grounded at the dockingstation).

My measurements did NOT identify any reasonable voltage output - I guess with the 3,7V battery Dell decided not to include an extra DC-DC converter to step-up the voltage to 5V.

Regarding RS223: yes, a regular max232 or max2323(3.3V + hi-speed)cable will do the job - the same thing as used for tons of mobile phones, digital camera wire-remotes and other devices :)

Check out the new diagram at http://www.aximsite.com/boards/attac...achmentid=6461

I'm pretty sure that there is an ID detection going on via pin 5 & 6, but it's still unclear how and what it triggers (if anything at all).

33 - 1
35 - 2
31 - 3
34 - 6
36 - 7
32 - 8
30 - 10
26 - 12
28 - 13
29 - 14
If this is all the connections I will have to make, where would you recommend getting a cable to use. I looked on radioshack.com and wasn't sure which thing to get.
Yes those are the connections you have to make.

As for what cable to use, I used the female half of a belkin vga monitor extention cable
Like this
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...=62037&CatId=3
(its what I had laying around). This way I can plug into the vga cable coming from the monitor.

Simple questions.. If the connector is connected to the X50v, and I look at the bottom (so I can see the pins). Which one is pin 1? I think from the diagram it's the lower right pin correct?

DrSiN, where did you get the connector? Is it a "charging adapter" which comes with x50v to charge or a connector from gomadic?

I got some connectors from gomadic. But it was not same as someone posted. Pin numbering was different - actually pinout is perfect though.

I'm gonna attach the pin numbering good luck :) :)

Goto to skimask's web site: http://web.ndak.net/~jdgrotte/aximbob/aximbob.html
It has pictures of the connector, X50v, and cradle.

See this thread: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=72265

Spiro, thanks for the link. That helped alot.

ComeX2 I just ordered them from Gomadic and they seem to be the right ones. 36 pins and everything is identical to my power adapter.

I am going to buy CF GPS so it doesn't matter LOL. But, I would appreciate it if you would tell me how you set up your own thing. it would probaboly be easier and cheaper. Tell me what you think. Homebuilt, or CF. Thanks
