Activesync no longer works using USB

I don't know what happened... When I put my X50 in the cradle, nothing happens- it charges, but Activesync won't start. The only way I can get it to start is when I sync via IR.

I can't sync via BT, but that's a whole other story.

Any suggestions?

Right click on the ActiveSync icon in the system tray, & choose connetion settings. Uncheck allow serial & allow network, ensure that only USB is checked. Then, recradle your Axim, & see if it works.

Do you have a software firewall running that could be causing issues, or the integrated XP Firewall?

sometimes this has happened with me and I have to
1. do a soft reset
2. before i put the unit back in the cradle I unplug the usb cord and wait a few seconds and plug it back in.
3. put unit in cradle

I even did a hard reset, uninstalled/reinstalled Activesync... still no luck.

I tried to set up Activesync via BT. No luck. The only way I can connect is IR. I got tons of maps I need to upload. I'm starting to lose my mind. I got this 2 weeks ago. Can I return it if it's less than 30 days?

Thanks for your help folks.

I tried another Hard Reset and got it working. Now if I could ever get my BT to work properly. I don't know if that's my Axim's fault or the BT dongle that I purchased.

Either way, if I don't fix it by this weekend, it's going back to Dell. No piece of equipment should be this hard to work.
