Gmail on X50v
Hi,
Has anyone successfully set up Messaging to send AND receive all messages, including older ones, from their Gmail account.
I have had no luck with the following settings:
Email setup (1/4)
My complete address, (including '@gmail.com').
Email setup (2/4)
My full name, complete email address, and password.
Email setup (3/4)
POP3 and the name I've given my account.
Email setup (4/4)
Incoming mail: pop.gmail.com
Outgoing Mail: smtp.gmail.com
I left Domain blank and went on to the Options button.
Options (1/3)
I left the settings unchanged; 'The Internet' was selected in the Connection dropdown.
Options (2/3)
Checked 'Require SSL connection' and 'Outgoing mail requires authentication'.
Options (3/3)
Selected 'Get full copy of messages' and tapped Finish.
Whenever I try to send/receive mail, I get an error message that tells me my messages cannot be downloaded. I have no problem sending mail.

Try modifying your incoming and outgoing mail servers as follows:
pop.gmail.com:995
smtp.gmail.com:465

I've tried most of the setting above with no luck.
Any suggestion in this field would be appreciated.

Thanks, but I've also tried these settings with the same results. I CAN download newer messages if I select the associated option in Gmail settings but I also want my older emails on my PDA.

Well, here's how my setup is different than yours. I don't have @ gmail.com after my username in my Pocket Outlook Account. I have SMTP server requires authentication and the SSL boxes checked in options. I don't have gmail.com in the domain field under the incoming and outgoing mail servers.

I've tried it with and without '@gmail.com' with still the same results. As for the checkboxes, I also have them both checked and left Domain blank. I've tried typing 'pop.gmail.com' or ' gmail.com' under Domain with no effect.

The domain need not be there, have you tried it with nothing entered in the domain field. Also, oddly enough, I can get it to work fine in Pocket Outlook, but not the latests version of WebIS Mail . . .

I'm having trouble with the gmail + pop + my axim (an x30 though) too
Until you get it working, you can check it via this
https://laputa.sytes.net:883/gmailer...lite/index.php
indeed this is only a test demonstrating what the script can do (but it will work for a real gmail account, I use it all the time), but the guy writing it is honest. However ideally, for maximum security, one would put this on their own website.

HOLY CRAP! Gmail popped his Axim! I guess that's what happens when we try and cram 1 GB of email into the Axim's teeny-tiny memory... HEY DELL! Give us more memory!!

Must be my account because I've seen these settings work on other people's X50v.
Thanks anyway! :)

I can receive messages just fine, but I am unable to send them! I get an error like "Unable to connect to outgoing mail server"
I have the outgoing mail set as: smtp@gmail.com:465 and have 'Outgoing mail requires authentication' checked. What else could be wrong
