PPC emulator for PC??
Is there such thing as a Pocket PC EMULATOR for a standard computer, so that while I wait for my X50v I can try out applications/games and see which ones I want to get????

Yes, the SDK contains the emulator. I run it on my PC here all the time. It works just like your Pocket PC. Here's a link to the MSDN downloads page:

The only emulators I have seen, only allow software compiled for x86 to be run on it.
It is primarily used for developers, example: I Compile to x86 to test on the emulator, then compile to ARM for release onto ARM devices.
So this emultor wont allow you run the typical program, unless the developer has released an x86 compiled version.

Most programs that use microsoft installers actually have 3 processor version compiled into them. The hardest part about using the emulator is getting activesync to see it. By default activsync can't connect to the emulator, but Microsoft has released a powertool that allows them to talk to each other. it's jsut not easy to find. Also, Even with a very fast computer, the emulator is very slow.

Safe your time. As already noted above, the emulator only works with x86 executables, which are not part of the distribution of any application.
