Saving web pages on PIE
Does anyone know of a way to save web pages for offline viewing while browsing with PIE?
Adding to favourites only saves the link for online viewing.
Also, is there a way to save jpegs viewed using PIE? The tap-and-hold menu doesn't bring a "Save" option, and I can't figure out how to copy and paste them.

PIE sucks. It doesn't let you save anything.
Some solutions are: - Look through your Temporary Internet Files directory (\windows\profiles\guest\temporary internet files\content.ie5)
- Use ftxpbrowser (freeware). It lets you save images and view source (you can then save the source and view the page later minus CSS and images). It also supports tabbed browsing, but doesn't have PIE's single column view and unfortunately uses PIE's engine (scales images).
- Use MultiIE or NetFront. These browsers have more features than PIE or ftxpbrowser, but they aren't free.

r u pretty sure ftx lets you save jpegs pics from the web? i have not found this to be the case. when i hold down and tap on a photo, the options it gives me are 1. select all text, 2. refresh page, and 3. add to favorites. maybe i am doing something wrong.
please enlighten me!

When I tap and hold an image with ftxPBrowser, I get two options: "Open Image in New Window" and "Save Image As...". I get the three options you mentioned when I tap an hold on the page where there isn't a link or an image.
I'm using:

Have you tried using AvantGo (it came with my Axima) and allows you to define where to download pages from etc. Although I donot use it it appears to be practical.

well couple of things...i had an old old version, so i got your version, but it appears to be in japanese, so everything i mine shows up as boxes where options are, so i am not sure what it says. i experimented with pressing some stuff, and i found out i was able to save some pics, so thanks.
but how can i get rid of these boxes? and display english?
also everytime i click on a link, it opens a new page, which is not what i want...but i suppose once i can read the settings, i will be able to fix this.
please help!

I googled ftxpbrowser and got this for the first hit... dunno if it's hosting the Japanese or English version:

Hi,
Haven't actually tried this (yet), but I'm sure there's a way to set a site as being a "mobile favourite" from your desktop PC. If you tell IE on your desktop to make the "mobile favourite" available offline, then I'm sure it's meant to synchronise the site content to your PocketPC.
Maybe this helps?
Steve.

Netfront 3.1 browser has a function called "Auto Cruise" that allows for unattended (or forced) downloads of multiple website information (ALL CONTENT) to memory, or external storage (SD/CF). It's a nice function.
(Netfront also supports image saving, along with numerous other enhancements over PIE).
It's not cheap, but definately worth a look (It's my default browser):

Many PPC apps are not "VGA-aware". You can usually fix this (some apps have a few graphical glitches after doing this, but they're usually minor): - Get Tweaks2k2 and use brute-force on the app.
- If you don't want to buy Tweaks2k2, you can do it manually by following the instructions here. However, Tweaks2k2 is worth buying.
