Try to tap-and-hold the "Redirect" value name and then select "Rename".

Now if I can only find a way to make this screen 4"....
I played around with it. Mine doesn't look anymore saturated, just darker. WHere are you setting it?

Great find ! Although it seems that the left half of the slider actually decreases the contrast, while increasing brightness, and that the right half doesn't change the contrast, but decreases brightness... weird.

the applet appears, but the slider won't slide. i'm using an x50 mid.. maybe it doesn't work on a non-vga screen.

yeah but the x5 is so easy. hold in the action button on the side (the scroll button but depress it)and then the up/down is brightness and if I remember right the left right is contrast

Yes, it is...
So I was digging little bit more in registry and I found that in HKLM\ControlPanel\Backlight is another "Redirect" and its value is pointing to Dell/HTC Brightness Panel (\windows\ctlpnl backlight.cpl). And when I renamed this Redirect to Redirect_ and after softreset the MS Backlight control panel showed up. Unfortunately without tab with sliders to set the backlight.

So if they will be there, maybe we should set the right contrast and backlight to make colors "sharper" and move the X50v to first place with quality of display (Hx4700 is really beating X50v on display colors... Compared using PocketLCD app.)

Another thing is if you start the Contrast panel again, it doesn't remember the position of slider...:bang:

BTW lot's of panels are "redirected" this way to nothing. Anybody knows why they are "redirected"?

KPDUTY, how did you get the Databases applet to show? (Which registry key does it correspond to?)

Thanks!

Not a registry key:

Control panel applet that gets displayed on the "System" tab of the "Settings" screen.
Enable you to list and clean your system databases (CEDB).

CEDB
Windows CE Database, very lightweight database system built in the file system component of Windows CE.
Tables stored in CEDB are not represented as files in the standard file system, PHM Databases applet let your view and clean these "hidden" storage items.
