picard--the asf plugin is built in you said? is this the same plugin to play wmv files? i have the latest version, 0.095g, although when you look in settings, it only says 0.095...and i have it file associated with wmv files, but when i go to select the wmv file, i cannot because it is not there. is there anyway i can play my wmv and asf files with this player?
thanks

btw,rj schuff, i believe there is no need to uninstall, just install over the old version...that is what i have been doing

If I may.
Picard as stated on a number of occasions that to play wmv with WMP that came with your system. The plugin for wmv files does not work.

If I may again,
You don't need to uninstall before a new install, but I do that anyway because I'm from way back from the DOS days and Microsoft has me well trained.

There's still hope that he'll get it working some day though since WMP10m can't play AVI extension files. And I'm sure I'm not the only one to come across AVI extension WMV9 video encoded files.

I am still hoping for Mpeg2 (SVCD) support. That would make my life perfect! ;)

How important would be interlace support? (You can check if your mpeg2 files are interlaced or not with latest GSpot http://www.headbands.com/gspot). Probably without interlace support it would be easier.

Just downloaded GSpot 2.52B1 and cant see where it would mention interlaced MPEG2. Where would it show up if the video was interlaced?

It's on the right side, in second block, below Pics/sec: Prog or I/L (interlaced)

Interlace support wouldn't be important (for me). Most (all?) SVCDs that I have are not in interlaced material.

In case you are yet interested in supporting interlace material one day, I heardly recommend you to look at the Mplayer for Linux sources. Mplayer has various different filters for deinterlacing interlaced material. Again, personally I am not in need of such ;)

Btw, Picard, I am ready for another donation. BetaPlayer undergoes the fastest development I've seen of late among PPC software. It is worth to be supported!

I've got 11 (s)vcd's sitting on my PC at the moment. 7 are progressive and 3 are interlaced. 1 didn't show up as either!?
