How to assign hardware button?

when I go to Today>Setting>Button, I only see button 1 to 6 with limited preset functions to select. Is it possible to have more advance settings like to program the middle button of the dialpad to active the Start Menu, or to program a button to perform a function upon holding instead of a quick touch? I thought these are built-in functions of Windows Mobile.

Thanks.

I would recommand to search for "assign button" and function or any combo like it.

It works within programs. Games especially. it's called the action button. I'm moving this to the newbies forum later.
