Mac: any Pocketmac users? calendar categories

Looking for anyone that uses PocketMac. The demo doesn't look to be feature-enabled enough to be useful for me for evaluation.

I'm wondering if PM syncs what outlook calls categories, and what iCal calls calendars... ie. I want to be able to label a calendar appt as "business", or "fun", or "vacation", etc, and use various coloring schemes, etc. All these calendars support such categorizing, but so far, neither

- Activesync on Windows
- Missing Sync on Mac

seem to sync such information.

The docs for PM claim it does, but would like some confirmation.

Thanks,
Mike

PS. am new to the PDA world and shocked to find that PDAs could have been around so long without this (or perhaps it works with Palm... MS what are you thinking not having this info sync ?!?!?!)

PPS. Since I presumably will have found another Mac user.. what corresponds to notes/tasks on our side?

I'm using Missing Sync which I really like.. but yes you are correct the categories for ical and tasks do not carry over.

Tasks in ical correspond to tasks in ical.

I have yet to figure out notes - only had my axim for a week and just got my sd card so been doing installs. That's always fun - forget about installing from the mac though. So many programs come as zipped exes and you need a windows machine to extract. I have a windows machine at home too but it's not my everyday machine.

I have Missing Sync but also only had axim for 1 week so early days here also.
I tried the demo of PocketMac but funny things happened on my mac (10.3.7) and the demo didn't work.
I have to say that customer support from PocketMac although fast was hardly reassuring ("Full version should work") whereas Missing Sync so far does what it says on the tin.
Hopefully someone has got PcketMac working on x50v and will be able to give you an answer.

I got confirmation that PM does sync ical "calendars" to PPC calendar "categories".

I think even PM Lite does, but I also got a rather less-than-satisfying reply from tech support.. LOL, have they outsourced??? :)

Activesync 3.8 came out today and I installed at work. As far as I can tell, no love on that side for category sync yet (perhaps Intellisync will, but my trial version drove me batty).

Mike

PS. I got mail from Pete at MS, saying they were aware of the desire for category sync and hoped to have it, but wasn't sure when that would happen.

If this confirmation was from tech support at PocketMac rather than an actual user I'd be wary.
Like I said, I got 2 confirmation emails from tech support when at that time it was quite clear that no-one was getting it to work with the x50v. That _may_ have changed now though.

It wasnt from tech support, so I feel good about it :)

Will buy the Lite version on Monday (when I have another block of time free) and play around then and report back.
