Microsoft Reader - Slow/Not opening ebooks
Hi,
I have MS Reader installed in RAM and whenever I go to open an ebook from the Library it can bring up the title page but when I point on the title to open it up the thing seems to freeze. I can't open up any ebooks. Have other people come across this/found a solution?
Thanks!

Microsoft reader
Yes. I have had similar problems with Microsoft reader. I was able to fix the problem by uninstalling it from both my pc and pocket pc and reinstalling it from a new download from Microsoft’s site. It still runs a little slow but at least I can view my books. Regrettably I don’t know how long this fix will last hopefully it is more permanent that I think it will be. Fortunately I do not use Microsoft reader much so if not its not going to hurt me much. Good luck!!
Thanks,
Brent

Take my advice, lose MS Reader, it really sucks, even from day 1. Now, if you have alot of ebooks in .lit format find away to convert them to prc or pdb files, there are some free utils that will do that. After you convert them, get a piece of software called Team One Reader or find a plucker reader app called Vade Mecum, both of these will read prc or pdb files perfectly and 10x faster and more configurable then M$ Reader :) Good luck!

Can you suggest such a program you find good? What about DRM locked .lit ebooks though - can it change those?
Thanks for your help.

Cheers Brent - this was a new download at the time so it seems like luck in your case?

I downloaded Microsoft Reader and a day later have still not managed to activate it! No help at all from the support services/helpline so I'm going to have to de-install. Very disappointing!
