Sighting of the Internationa Space Space Station via the X50v

Hi Guys,

Found a site that gives you a passing time of the Internation Space Station over your home town, luckely for me it was a clear night, using wirless i proceeded with my X50v to the graden. The realtime earth map view showed it getting closer to the UK

WSW headind SSW at 8:11 PM visable for 2 minutes, bang on Que there she was....unbelivable.

For those of you in the UK there is a passing on the 11th Jan, just hope it's a clear night.

Simon

There is an amazing Freeware Astronomy PPC application called "Taiyoukei" that has an option to find many celestrial objects at any given time (including the ISS).

A definate must for anyone interested in what's going on above you.

I just installed this program (thanks for the tip KPDUTY!) on my X50v and it runs fine - didn't have to do a separate vb installation.

Hi guys yes that was one of the sites that gives you a visual, this one gives you a detailed time and position in the sky to look at, you need to select your home town....don't forget you need a clear night to view.

When I run Taiyoukei it forwards me to the microsoft site to get embedded VB, Sounds Like a great app , but not keen on instaling extra VB stuff .. Anyone know of any other apps? I'm using a X50v.

I have used this one for years on my PC. Don't have a lot of time to mess about with it just now but it seems to work on the Axim. Best times to look are early evening soon after dusk so the spacecraft is still illuminated by the sun.

i wonder if this could be a SD card write speed thing... mines pretty slow and i've heard that some apps time out when trying to load from SD if they have to write in the process. my card is just a cheap 512. maybe i'l have to try just temporarily installing the whole thing locally just to see if it runs.
