x50v turns on automatically when cradled

searched and read the manual, but i could be having brain freeze...

my question/situation is -- when i put my x50v (turned off) in the cradle (and the cradle is plugged in both the a/c and USB to the computer) -- the x50v automatically turns on.

can i prevent it from turning on automatically? there was a setting on my mio 168 to prevent this, but i can't seem to figure out how to do it on my new x50v.

thanks and great site!

No

You can however change the settings (power settings) to turn off once in the cradle after x-seconds. Once cradled it assumes that it will sync and to do that it must be turned on.

Did you try not touching the side/other buttons when placing it into the cradle...
or having the lock switch up?

BTW, you can easily just press the power-off button again. :)

There are also some 3rd party utilities you can use to toggle AS on and off on your PC. When you toggle it off, it should'nt power on hen you place it in the cradle. Search google for ActiveSync Toggle & see what you come up with.
