I will try it on x50v. Supposedly it installs in RAM. So if you have a backup, it should be fine if something goes wrong.

I tried it (my units a goner, replacement on the way from Dell anwyay.. so why not), and couldn't tell if/what it did anything.

All the driver versions (listed under the Advanced About tab in Bluetooth settings) stayed the same.

Maybe I missed something??

yes that is correct. It also adds a keyboard wizard.
I installed it but I don't have anything to test it with.

adds a 'Tool' folder to your program folder has CESetup.dll

Can't uninstall as it does not show up in remove programs window

I paired them. Can't get them to connect though. Still fiddling with it. Will post if I do or won't succeed.

No side effects. Set up took me like 45 minutes. Resetting the headphones and PPC after failed connection. The problem is (noticed it with my iPaq aswell) that after successfull pair, the PPC needs to connect but when the PPC sends the connect command the headphones turn off. After that you can't connect. So I kept redoing the pair, resetting the headphones each time (with the stylus, poke little whole) and finally I turned the headphones on after they turned off after PPC attempted to connect and the connection was made. Then I had to turn the headphones off and on and press the button on the headphones to establish connection (for some reason, after first connection the sound is all garbled, but after turning off and on it's fine).

I still can't get the next and previous buttons to work. Volume works though. I think for that we'll need some driver that HP included in their software that allows WMP to know when the buttons are pressed.

But otherwise, I'm so happy. I was about to sell these headphones too, glad I didn't.
