Help! Not Syncing! :(

Hello. I just got my new x50v....but...it's not syncing. Instead of being on tech support with someone I can't understand for 2-3 hours of my life while they tell me to try standing on one foot, and see if that works...thought I'd come here first.

It's plugged in, recognized, and when I hit the syncing button, i goes through the motions, and says synced. Yet, none of my contacts show up, or appointements, etc. There's only 1 task showing up, something about Java. I have Outlook 2003. I don't know what calendar, contacts, etc. it's looking at. Even when I go to the Active Sync settings for Contacts, i thought I'd limit it to a certain category...it shows no categorys, like it can't even see Outlook 2003. I have 8 diffrent categories for my contacts. Can anyone help? Please? I mean, this WAS the reason I purchased it for. Thanks. :realmad:

P.S. Also, using the updated Active Sync 3.8.
- Earnest.

Verify your activsync settings are set to sync all contacts, events, tasks, etc. When you open Contacts on the Axim, make sure the menu in the upper left says all contacts and not a specific category. The Axim comes with a couple categories already setup.

Do you have a partnership setup or are you syncing as a guest?

"I assume you already tried a soft reset?"

I have a sync with a partnership. I have not done a soft reset though. Checked the other items you guys metioned, and "All" contacts is selected....I'll try the soft reset though. Why woudln't my calendar information come through though? Or why doen's the activesync on my desktop computer list my contact categories?

try syncing using a diff method other than cradle, like 'work' thru 802 conn.

then retry the cradle

Progress

Strange strange. Ok, so I moved all my contacts in outlooks out of their respective categories, and into a category called contacts. When I synced, it brought them over. So the ActiveSync though is still not seeing my categories in my Outlook. Mail comes over 50/50. But, I suppose I'm making progress. This is a really strange problem. Called Dell, and they were unable to be of any descent help. On the plus side. I did do the 802.11 sync...I also got my home VPN up, and can sync at Panera during lunch. :). Oh how I love taking my computer everywhere with me. :).
