Are programs installed in BIS still runnable after hard-reset?

Are programs installed in BIS still runnable after hard-reset?
if yes, is there any manual re-link needed to be done?
if no, whats the point of install program in built-in-storage other than saving RAM?

forgive me if its a newbie question. thanks.

Welcome to Aximsite!! No question is stupid, we were all newbies once.

Saving RAM is already a very good point in favor of installing them to BIS.

But apart from that, it depends on the programs. Some of them need only the .exe file and some local DLL to run, and yes they will work after a hard reset. Other ones make heavy use of the registry or use DLL saved in the Windows folder, and if you erase their registry entries and DLLs (which is what a hard reset does among other things), then they won't work. Best bet is to try. Perhaps if you name the programs, we could give you more help.

Most programs will not run after a hard reset because the registry keys and links have been deleted. The main purpose of the BIS is to give you a safe place to store files without worrying about losing them. The secondary purpose of the BIS is to save RAM, so there is nothing wrong with installing programs there.

Thanks, that clarifies. I'd hoped all programms in permanant storage can survive a hard-reset, without the need of re-installation. Looks like it's not the case :(

I guess it should be a great feature to have. and I don't see much difficulty for OS vendor to implement it :)
