To give you the bottom line, you're probably going to have to call Dell about getting a replacement. The only thing that's worked for some people is starting a hard-reset by holding the power button and pressing the reset button in the back with the stylus, then cancelling it when given the option on the next screen. Unfortunately, though, that didn't work for me. Nor did a hard-reset.
It seems that this issue arises when files are being copied to the built-in storage and the unit soft-resets (such as when installing several applications, and one of the installers resets the device -- I think this is what happened to mine).
