Increase your processor speed

By default the processor speed of the x50v (don't know about the others) is set to auto scale in order to save battery power. You can increase this speed by doing the following:

- Tap 'Start' - 'Settings' - 'System Tab' - 'Power Icon' - 'Processor Tab'
- Set it to your hearts content.

Mine stays at 624 MHz

You could also use XCPUScalar to overclock your processor.

Just to add to this - it's also possible to move the cache to BIS but doing so will result in a significant slowdown.

It is true. Does the new ROM A02 inprove the BIS access speed? Anyone tested it yet?

You might want to add these tricks posted here

1/ Access to hidden update menu:

Press PowerOn and Wireless button than click once in reset button, you will access a menu to upgrade from the SD.

2/ Access to diagnostoc tools:

press PowerOn and Record button than click once in reset button.

Actually, it does heighten performance. It allows MPEG-4 Video to be played at a much lower clock speed... :approve:

Date & Time On title Bar

Try this to put the date and time of the title bar. I forget where I copied this from.

Displaying Date and Time in the title bar:

The Pocket PC display the time in the title bar, the user can select Analog or Digital using tap&hold on the time.
But some people also want the date to be easily available, this was actually available on Palm-size PC devices.
Fortunately there is a tweak to display both the date and time instead of time only in the Pocket PC title bar :

Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\
Create a binary value named "TBOpt" and set its value to "13 00 00 00".
Save any unsaved document and reset your Pocket PC.

Really like psshutxp. I also downloaded the blue and white VGA skin but haven't been able to get the skin to display. Where do you install the skin and how do you get it to display?

As reported A02 ROM still does not fix the BT & WiFi (turn on/off) problem. I think this issue mostly can be circumvented by turn off all Today plugins. The free utility Nopluginstoday (http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities...instoday.shtml)

This utility can quickly disable all today Plugins - You can turn on BT or WiFi and re-enable Today Plugins

Added under 'General Tweaks'. I may create a 'Sound Tweaks' section if I/someone finds one more sound tweak. Currently there are the alarms and x50mix. Thanks SolSie!
