Question Screen Alignment Problem

I seem to have to align my screen every other time I use my axim x50, is anyone else having a problem like this? After I align it, it will work fine, and the next time I use it its fine, but after that I tap on one part of the screen and it seems to highlight whatever is to the lower left of where the stylus is, its become pretty annoying having to click on the item above what I want when I don’t have time to do another alignment. Anyone else having this problem or heard of it?

Yeah, I have that problem. It only recently started to get worse. I got mine imported from America, if there is a problem I hope to be able to get a replacement.

Screen Problems

I had this problem before I returned my Axim (too many problems to make it worth it). I found the fix was to press hard on the casing to the right of the power button and just to the left of the "A" on Axim.

If I drew horizontal lines on mine in "Notes" they were general all over the place (seems to be affected only in the vertical). Call Dell to exchange it because it is a faulty digitizer. Search for digitizer on the forums and you should see lot's of other people who've also had this problem...

Is there any chance I can return to Dell UK if I bought it from the US (pushing my luck). If not I'll just contact the person in the US>

Man, at least I'm not alone with the alignment issue...

I can feel that pain brothers & sisters!!! lol

My problem is that I'm stuck in the Alginment Screen...I can't go any further. It's a FLOD! ( F**kin' Loop Of Death).

Any suggestions? Because I'm considering to sprinkle some gas on it and give it light!!! Oh LORD!!! lol

My X50v does it too. It started with slight misalignments and now I have to align the screen twice a day.
I sometimes get stuck too in the alignment screen. I usually get out it by pressing HARD on the spots. If not, turning the PDA off gets you out of the screen, but your screen will still be screwed.
I recieved it about two weeks ago and I decided to call Dell today to get a new one. They'll be coming in about a week.

My first five (5) x50v's had screen alignment problems. I (not Dell) finally figured it out. This is NOT a "pocket" PC. I put the first five x50v's in my pants pocket without a case and those PPCs had screen alignment problems - every symptom listed earlier in this thread.

When I got my sixth x50v, I bought a hard case for it (Innopocket Magnum) and that x50v is either in that case and in my pocket, or without the hard case it NEVER goes in any pocket. It's been perfect from day one.

Replace the "bad" x50v and then never put it in a pocket again without a hard case.

Alignment issues

The first thing I'd recommend is to get rid of the Dell case that comes with Axims - it causes pressure to be on the screen constantly and I had to return one for the same misalignment issue. I've used a different case and haven't had any troubles with the replacement unit from a year ago.

I have the Dell Axim x50 and I had it floating around in my pocket with the Dell case.. My problem was it kept getting misaligned and kept getting worse and I tried reflashing the firmware only to make it worse and have it stuck on the "Align Screen" mode..

I was about to call Dell to see if they would replace it, but I noticed they had a section for aligning the screen. I thought someone may have commented on there about the problem so I looked.

The site suggested that I take the edge of a business card and stick it in the edges of the Axim screen to clear out all the dirt/dust (quoting the site) "This will dislodge any dirt or dust that may disrupt the LCD touchscreen."

I did that, performed a hard reset, and it works! I hope this helps out others like it helped me.
