Tweaks2k2 used with Excel/Word/MSreader/Today Screen Plugin's

i am having some difficulty with applying tweaks2k2 brute force with some of the above listed....

for excel/word/msreader, i simply try to apply it to the exe file in the windows folder. then click apply, but nothing seems to happen when i try the programs, at least with word and excel...
with msreader, everything gets a bit smaller.

with today screen plugins, most of them are dll files on the PPC. i am not sure how to apply the tweaks to these because i can only seem to select exe files to use brute force, and not dll's. anyone know how to get around this so i can use more of this excellent program?

It worked for me with each of the application you listed. Make sure it's applied in the same folder with the .exe file. On the .dll files, After you get to the "Select file of type:" screen tap on the box with the .EXE in it and select .DLL. Then move to the directory with the .dll in it and apply the force.

I'm still confused. This only works if you're using a VGA enhancer like oz or se_vga right?

jackrich---i guess i had did them right, it just appears as though there are no change to the programs. with word, excel, and reader they seem the same. i finally got the today plugin i wanted to work...thanks for the dll advice, it helped out alot.

don't panic--brute force is designed to make programs "vga aware" and look like vga without having to apply oz or se_vga to apply vga to everything. i do not like this, since it makes everything too small...i have everything in regular qvga format, and apply brute force to as much as i can...i have yet to find a browser that responds well to brute force however--explorer, ftxbrowser, or pocket IE...netfront looks ok, but it takes way to freaking long to load up, and those large ass fonts on the address screen annoy me to death.

Don't Panic! it works to turn off double pixelling. The fonts get 1/4 size, as do any icons. It definitely speed up the display of the QVGA programs, if you can take the small fonts.

eugchen, I need to apologize. I wasn't thinking of Pword and Pexecel. I use PlanMaker and TextMaker and the force worked brilliantly for them. It may not be as effective for the M$ products. Sorry about that.

I too am frustrated that tweaks2k2 doesn't work with the pocket office applications. It's still the best $10 I ever spent because now I don't have to reset every time I use Pocket Streets but I would sure love to be able to use pocket excel and pocket internet explorer without having to reset. Even Word is okay but Excel is almost unuseable with the limited screen space. HELP! Anyone know how to get them into VGA without SE_VGA every time?
