None of them :)

I'm not a fan of the current iPAQ range at all. The hx4700 has VGA but the pricing is horrendous.

There is nothing in the current iPAQ range that has the looks of the X50 either IMHO.

The new 2700 series ($520) would be the closest to the X50 ($359 or lower), and the 4700 ($600) the closest to the X50v ($449 or lower).

The 2700 has the 624 MHz processor, fingerprint reader, and 128ROM/128RAM; the X50 has the 512 MHz processor, and 128 ROM/64RAM

And the 4700 has the touch pad, and 128ROM/64RAM. The X50V 128ROM/64RAM plus the graphics chip.

The X50 mid is what the HP2215 should have been. Nothing they've produced compares to the X50v IMHO.

If you are not a gamer and money is not an issue, I recommend the HX4700. In my opinion, the screen is much better.

they say the 4100 (w/o the keyboard) is like the x50 mid , just with a cf slot. otherwise (besides the speed and the price and the amount of available memory :)) they are twins

I was looking also at the Hp 4700 or 4705. It was equal except for the price.

And through January HP is offering a package deal that includes a free little wheelbarrow to haul it around with, and a bag of mortar.

If you are looking for a small PDA, the HX4700 is not for you. If you're looking for the best VGA screen and case, you will not find a better PDA.

That's a matter of opinion. I bought the 4705 and owned it for a week and returned it due to poorer image reproduction.

Two issues. I'm heavily into photography and the Dell x50v provides a more true-to-life image as compared to the HP 4705. I compared them side-to-side with several 6.3 MP images, and it was obvious. After a day of shooting, I put the XD card into my x50v CF adapter for viewing.

Secondly, the 4705 has too dark a contrast which makes some video playback difficult to see. That was my experience anyway.

Granted, the colors are more saturated on the 4705, but IMO that's a disadvantage unless you're just using it as a PIM or for games.

You're one of the few people I've heard of to say the screen is better on the x50v than the HX4700, including the owner of this site. If it works better for your needs, awesome. To trash other products usually shows a feeling of inadequacy or immaturity.

Where was the HX4700 "Trashed" in ValkyrieRiders post? Somehow I get the feeling that you're an HX4700 owner yourself The Toddfather. :rolling:

No biggie but if you're coming to Aximsite you have to expect some brand loyalty after all and really I don't see where the HX4700 was trashed in that post at all.
