Add Mobile Device to "send to"

Anyone know how to add mobile device to the "send to". I want to right click a file and dump it in my Axim. Searched this site and Microsoft. seems like I can only add folders not devices.

Thoughts?

I *think* you can get it if you install Resco Explorer. Even if you don't go beyond the trial, the feature still stays on your system (from what I remember).

I have bluetooth on my pc and when I right click and go to send to, I have the option of sending to pocket pc with bluetooth. Other than that I think the only way is to manually move them through activesync.

Very easy to do actually (but your Axim has to be in its cradle). I will assume that you are using windows xp. Here is the procedure:

First, be sure that "show hidden files and folders" is selected under your "Folder Options" applet in the control panel.

Open "My Computer" and right click on "Mobile Device". Select create shortcut (it will be on your desktop).

Find the new shortcut to your handheld on your desktop and right click then "cut".

Then, browse to C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\SendTo folder. Simply "paste" the shortcut from your desktop into the SendTo folder, and your done!

Good Luck! :approve:

Resco Explorer has a program that runs from your PC that does that, install the trial and you are set. Almost certain that it stays on your PC after the trial expires. I use it constantly.

Have a Great Day,
Jim

The PPC version of Resco Explorer will add this feature onto the desktop during the installation process.

i noticed something else when i followed the original instructions that when I do not have the mobile device window open, I cannot do the "sendto" (ie. right clicking for the sendto does not give me the mobile device as a "sendto" drive)
but if i have the mobile device open as a window and i do a right click, mobile device is there as a "sendto" choice.
is that normal?

No this isn't normal, try uninstall and reinstall. Device window should not have to be open..
