Unable to Sync my 50v

I recently received my 50v, was able to sync with my work computer (Dell), but am unable to sync with my home computer (not a Dell). I didn't follow the instructions exactly at home, in that after the install, I plugged in the cradle with the 50v already sitting in the cradle. It never gave me the opportunity to establish the Partnership. I suspect I messed up during the plugging in the cradle, but don't know. I uninstalled the SW and HW, disabled McAffee Firewall and Virus Scan, and reinstalled, but no sync. When I put the 50v in the cradle, it tries to sync, but the "x" appears beside the syncing icon. I never get to the "Partnership" stage. Any suggestions?
