And the dpad on the X50 is the best I've experienced on a PPC and I've owned many and played emulators on all of them.
What you're failing to understand is not a matter of power-ups or killing the boss, it's a matter of controlling your craft. Currently it feels like I have to wrestle with the controls just to get my ship to go in remotely the same direction I want it to fly in. It's no fun when I spend 2-3 seconds trying to align my ship for a shot when I can easily do it in 0.5 with a stylus.

A first person type view? That might be possible but would require a lot of coding. We had talked about it but the way we coded it the camera is directly tied into the level object. We would have to recode a lot of core elements... sooooo... maybe? Our code team is currently bogged down and I'm but an artist... Hey, the menu's were sexy though right? And how about that level 1 boss? oh yeahhhh

As for controls, I know I'm not too keen on our dev unit's joystick, but I haven't tried out the Axim 50v's. I would love it if they came with an analog stick. Also, I mentioned this in the other tread too, but greisdorf is currently working on getting stylus input back in.

You need to soft reset after you choose 'original driver'. Then it works.

Looks good!

mmmmmm......no, hehe as my friend stated the camera is tied to core elements in the game. Technically it is possible but it would require rewriting most of the game. Like blacksmith-x said us programmers are currently working on other Blacksmith projects at the moment and as much as I would love to see a first person view mode ( especially with a good cockpit HUD :) ) I don't see it happening with our shedules at the moment. Sorry to dissappoint any hopes people may have had for that.

I'm going to use everyones favorite words and say "no comment."

As for the stylus controls in the latest build.... I thought it was awesome too, I just played the latest build only yesterday. Complements to greisdorf for getting that in there.

What about maybe making the ship transparent? Also, I noticed that when you first begin off the first level, it looks like it's in a first-person-like view for a few seconds before zooming out to your ship. Maybe it's possible to 'fake' a first person view like that? An option to make your ship transparent would also help to see where your shooting cursor is.

Adding an alpha isn't hard, but the 2700g hasn't been able to do alpha sorting very efficiently and would slow the game down a lot. The stylus control has already reduced the frame-rate, so we probably won't be able to give you alphas without the game crawling!

The faking first-person still won't allow you go "move" the whole camera/view. We're trying to put it whatever we can given the limitations of the hardware (and the ever changing drivers). Thanks for the comments/support we're pushing to have the game ready by the 9th. (hence greisdorf's hermit like status the last week).
