Internet on a PDA

Does anyone elses x50v display a bubble that says "Connection to: Dial-up (BT Network Access), Using: Bluetooth Null Modem" when they hit connect on the icon for internet through your conputer under bluetooth manager? Mine displays that and then never connects. I can never load a page! How do I fix this?

If I can find my BT dongle, I'll have a go and see what to do, but I don;t think you want a BT Null Modem for the connection.

What OS is the PC?

It is a Dell Axim x50v, so it has WM2003. I agree with you, I don't think I should have a bluetooth null modem eaither, but everytime I try and change it to just bluetooth it says there is no bluetooth hardware found? I don't get it, the bluetooth hardware came preinstalled.

Sorry I have no clue.

I am still fighting with my Bluetooth. Interestingly, my colleagues Bluetooth stick, which is the same as mine, allows him to sit in the meeting room and to surf the internet but mine does not. I cannot do anything but see my office laptop. He owns a HP 1940 and I bought myself an x50v.. So, whenever someone posts anything Bluetooth related, I hope that I may find an answer, why mine does not work at all...

Mr Klaatu is completely right. I had the same exact problem and after being on hold for 1 hour and 45 minutes with Dell and then after trying every possible option with 2 different people from Dell the only way to fix this problem is to do a hard reset and start over from scratch. I was slightly annoyed but then I remembered the number 1 rule of PPC.....BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!

I can't find my BT dongle anywhere ....

From memory, connecting to the net via BT on my XP machine involved something to do with internet connection sharing, dial up bluetooth modem and bridged network connections. It all seemed a bit more complex than I would have imagined it to be at the time, but once I got it set up it was fine....

What is your PC's OS (or are you tring to connct via another device ?)

I am running Windows XP Media Center. I have set up internet connection sharing, and all the other settings on the computer. I think the problem is in the PDA modem connection. Although, I have done no bridging of connections. I didn't think I needed to. Let me know if I need to, and how to.

Ok, I did a hard reset to start from scratch. I went through all the steps on the first site you gave me. The only problem is I am getting a screen that wants a User name, Password, and Domain. What do I put there? I live on a college campus, so would that have anything to do with it? I called the network help line for the campus network, and he didn't know what to put there. I am so confused! Please help.

-Jon-

EDIT: It still is trying to connect to the Bluetooth Dial up modem. I did a hard reset, what else is there to do???? If I go into the "Manage your connections" and try to change the Bluetooth access to just "Bluetooth" not "Bluetooth Null Modem" it take me to a screen that always tells me there is no bluetooth hardware instatlled? This is very frusterating!
